Today's LVP is a completely different product than the peel-and-stick vinyl of the past. Modern rigid-core LVP (SPC — stone plastic composite) is fully waterproof, dent- and scratch-resistant, and the printed wear layer looks so much like real wood or stone that most guests won't know the difference. It's the fastest-growing flooring category in America for good reason.
Laminate has also come a long way — new-generation laminates are water-resistant, feature more realistic wood visuals, and cost less than LVP. For dry areas like bedrooms and living rooms on a budget, laminate is still a great choice.
