Laminate & Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP)

About This Service

Today's LVP is a completely different product than the peel-and-stick vinyl of the past. Modern rigid-core LVP (SPC β€” stone plastic composite) is fully waterproof, dent- and scratch-resistant, and the printed wear layer looks so much like real wood or stone that most guests won't know the difference. It's the fastest-growing flooring category in America for good reason.

Laminate has also come a long way β€” new-generation laminates are water-resistant, feature more realistic wood visuals, and cost less than LVP. For dry areas like bedrooms and living rooms on a budget, laminate is still a great choice.

Where LVP really shines is in kitchens, bathrooms, basements, laundry rooms, mudrooms, and homes with big dogs or busy kids. It's the closest thing to a bulletproof residential floor. We install both floating (click-lock) and glue-down systems, always over a properly prepped, flat subfloor β€” because even a waterproof floor telegraphs every bump underneath.

    Trim & Transitions

Quarter-round, T-molding, and threshold pieces to finish every edge.

Care & Maintenance

  • Sweep or dry-mop regularly to remove grit that can scratch the wear layer.
  • Damp-mop with an LVP-safe cleaner (Bona, Rejuvenate, or manufacturer-approved).
  • Use felt pads on furniture and non-staining rugs (avoid rubber-backed mats that can discolor vinyl).
  • Wipe up standing water promptly β€” waterproof doesn't mean the subfloor is.

What It Costs

Installed LVP in Clarksville typically runs $5–$10 per square foot depending on product quality and subfloor prep. Laminate is usually a dollar or two less per square foot installed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is LVP really waterproof?

Yes β€” rigid-core LVP is fully waterproof, making it ideal for kitchens, baths, and basements.

How does it hold up to pets?

Very well. LVP is one of the most scratch- and stain-resistant flooring options available.

LVP vs laminate β€” which should I pick?

LVP for anywhere water is a concern (kitchen, bath, basement). Laminate is a great budget pick for bedrooms and living areas that stay dry.

Will LVP fade in sunny rooms?

Quality LVP has UV inhibitors and is very fade-resistant. Cheap products can fade β€” we stick with reputable brands.

Can LVP go over existing tile?

Often yes, if the tile is well-bonded, flat, and the height change works at doorways. We'll check on the estimate.
